Synopsis: Red Carridean, is restless, and so is his recently befriended partner in crime, the Bainish spy Brenn Edgewood. Hidden at New Niehembreth for nearly two years (or so) the edges of differences begin to manifest and annoy each other as one wishes to leave the planet, the other to stay. Meanwhile Jeshibian is tasked with trying to unlock the mystery of presence found in the dash of his acquired Triken vessel, Kullderabray. Mediha, the reluctant Nadthsade Dragon, begins to manifest better dreams of her future. Hue Truetell, the reporter tags along.
